Product activation is a quick, anonymous, and secure process that verifies the authenticity of your software. This is done to protect you from the adverse effects of pirated software. The process also verifies that the serial number has not been activated on more systems than allowed by the license that you have purchased. No personally identifiable information is required.
Comparison of Licensing Models
After you first launch your product, you will be asked to activate it. Simply follow a series of steps, and in seconds, your software will be activated and authenticated. The activation process does not hinder the software's usability. You can use it the same way you always have.
You go through a series of easy steps to activate your software, usually via the Internet (offline activation is also possible). You enter an activation code which is used to authenticate the software license, thus unlocking the product. No personal information is required, and the whole process takes just a few seconds.

You have 14 days to activate your product after the first launch.
Yes. The 14 day trial period only starts when you first run the program and start the trial. After the trial period has ended, you need to activate in order to use the product.
If you do not activate your product within 14 days after starting the trial, your product will stop working until you enter a valid activation code.
If you purchased and downloaded your software directly from Erithacus Software, you should have received your serial number via email. If you purchased a physical copy, your serial number is located on an adhesive label on your product CD case. If you cannot find your serial number, contact .
After purchasing your product (and subsequently receiving your activation code, you simply enter this into the product to activate it. Typically, activation is completed in just a few seconds via the Internet (online activation). In some cases, offline activation is required. See Offline Activation to learn more.
The information provided is used to verify that your GraFit product is operated within the capacity outlined by the Erithacus Software End-User License Agreement (EULA). The activation information you provide will never be linked to your personal customer information. Please read our privacy policy for additional information.
It depends on the number of activations allowed for the license you purchased.
Single-user license. You may activate the program on up to 2 computers, though this must solely be to support the activity of the license holder. If you attempt to activate it on a third computer that will be allowed, but the previous activations will be deactivated until you re-enter your activation password.
Student license. The program can be activated on only a single computer at any one time.
Multi-user license. The number of computers that the program can be activated on is set by the number of seats in the multi-user license that you purchased.

If you have a single user license then the software can only be used by the license holder. Allowing others to use your secondary license is in violation of the End-User License Agreement.
Single-user and student licenses. Once you have activated your product, you do not need to be online to use it.
Multi-user licenses. The software periodically checks online to see whether your license has been revoked by your license administrator. It is therefore necessary for your computer to have regular internet access.
Product activation is a mandatory, anonymous process that verifies your product�s serial number. Product registration is a process that entitles you to product updates and support from Erithacus Software.
Internet activation (online activation) typically takes seconds to complete.
You have 14 days after your first launch while the product will run in evaluation mode. The software, which is fully functional during this period, will remind you that it is not yet activated whenever you run it during this time. After 14 days, the product will stop working until you activate it. You may activate your software at any time.
Single-user and student licenses. To transfer the software license you should first deactivate it on the original computer. Deactivation is done by clicking the Deactivate button from the Help About dialog box. Then, after upgrading or replacing your computer, reinstall the software. You will need to activate the software on the new computer, which will require your activation code and the password you entered when the software was first installed. If it is not possible to deactivate your installation, for example if your computer has been damaged, then you can still reinstall and reactivate your software. In this instance, however, it is possible that any other installations of the software will also need to be reactivated.
Multiple-user licenses. It is best first to deactivate the software on the original computer. Deactivation is done by clicking the Deactivate button from the Help About dialog box. Then, after upgrading or replacing your computer, reinstall the software. You will need to activate the software on the new computer, which will require your activation code and password. Please consult your License Administrator if you need this information. If it is not possible to deactivate your installation, for example if your computer has been damaged, then your License Administrator can deactivate the original installation remotely. Please consult them for further assistance.
Only in extreme situations. For example, if you upgrade your computer, or if the activation process detects that the license has been tampered with, will you have to reactivate your product. Some major hardware changes, including replacement of your hard disk drive, mean that the software will also need to be reactivated. Reactivation will also need to be done if you have installed more copies of the program than permitted by your license.
Yes. Re-activate the product using the activation code and your personal password. The way that our software protection works means that you will not be prevented from using your software.

Yes. Before uninstalling you should first deactivate it on the original computer. Deactivation is done by clicking the Deactivate button from the Help About dialog box. After uninstalling your software on the current machine you can then reinstall it on a new machine.
The activation process is
completely anonymous and never requests, collects,
or transmits personal information. It does not scan
your hard drive. Furthermore, none of the collected
information can be used to identify your individual
hardware components.
More specifically, the
activation process gathers a minimal amount of
information about the product and your machine to
create a request for a product license.
It also requests your email
address, which is used to send you a password
reminder in the event that you forget your
password.
You need to enter a password that is associated with the activation process. If you ever need to reactivate your software it is necessary to enter this password in order to verify that you are the rightful license holder. In the event that you have forgotten your password you can click a button to request that it is emailed to you.
Single-user and student licenses. Your email address is collected so that we can email your password in the event that you forget it. All screens where you need to enter your password also have an "I've forgotten my password" button that when clicked will automatically and immediately email your password to you. If you chose not to enter a valid email address there is no way to retrieve lost passwords.
Multi-user licenses. For the first installation, your email address is collected so that you can be emailed the information required to set up the License Control Panel and act as the License Administrator. Subsequent installations should consult the License Administrator in the event that they need to know the installation password.
Single-user and student licenses. Activation is a secure and anonymous, one-time process. After activation is complete, the activation technology in the product never contacts Erithacus Software.
Multi-user licenses. The software periodically checks the validity of the installation. No information is sent about you or your system itself.
